The life of an NFL player can involve a number of moves from city to city throughout the season and offseason. It was during the course of these moves where Bills linebacker Brandon Spikes ran into a bit of a snafu with Joshua Wolfson of The Fish Guy.
According to Spikes’ agent David Canter, Spikes hired Wolfson in 2011 to service his fish tank and that Wolfson moved the tank three times. Even when the first move resulted in a tank failure and the death of about half of Spikes’ fish, Spikes continued to employ him; chalking the deaths up to just something that comes with the territory.
When Spikes moved to Buffalo, Wolfson advised him to buy a new tank which Wolfson installed. At this point, more fish died. A local fish tank service in Buffalo informed Spikes that the filters were improperly installed and the tank was all wrong for the type of fish Spikes had. This resulted in Spikes purchasing yet another tank in efforts to save his remaining fish.
Since he had to buy two tanks and lost the majority of his fish, Spikes decided not to pay The Fish Guy, setting off a chain of legal issues including a motion to garnish Spikes’ wages. Attorneys for Spikes have filed a motion to vacate that judgement.
