Celtics Tell Knicks Whether or Not They’ll Trade for Melo

The saga continues when it involves Carmelo Anthony and his possible trade. The latest team to report are the Boston Celtics and they don’t have the slightest interest.

In the NBA, no trade clauses do the talking and Carmelo Anthony’s contract possesses one. Anthony could get traded but he has to sign off on it first. The Cavs rejected, the Clippers aren’t giving up anybody, and now, the Celtics are also saying no.

Sources told ESPN the teams did have exploratory talks last season about Anthony, but the Celtics told their Atlantic Division rivals they are no longer a possible trade partner.

The trade efforts are there but keep in mind that Anthony has no intentions of leaving. The Celtics are on the rise and right now, it will not be Anthony’s new home. If the Knicks could just pick up their defense and not lose close games, we all wouldn’t be here and having this conversation.

February 23 is ticking.
