Ice Cube and Roger Mason Jr. may have persuaded their most important and biggest name to join and cement the 3-on-3 pro league set to hit cities this summer!
According ot Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical — ‘The Answer’ Allen Iverson has signed on to be one of the league’s eight player/coaches — with a massive press conference set for Wednesday in New York to officially announce the move.
Iverson will be one of eight dual head coach/players in the league, which is backed by entertainment icon Ice Cube and includes Roger Mason as president and commissioner.
Iverson is scheduled to appear at a news conference in New York on Wednesday to discuss his part in the league’s summer launch, sources said.
Among other players committed to the half-court league, which is set to travel throughout eight cities and venues this summer: Chauncey Billups, Kenyon Martin, Rashard Lewis, Jermaine O’Neal, Stephen Jackson and Jason Williams.
Iverson was enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in September, and the 11-time All-Star may have just blessed Ice Cube’s league with the star power necessary to survive!
