TMZ Sports spoke to legendary boxing promoter Bob Arum, who says a Pacquiao v McGregor boxing match is a done deal if McGregor wants it. Say what? We know that McGregor and Floyd Mayweather are engaged in this long dance regarding their potential fight. But it seems Arum is willing to scoop the fight for his guy Pacquiao.
To be fair McGregor was the one who brought up possibly fighting Pacquiao during a recent pay-per-view Q+A. The always brash McGregor said:
Maybe f*ck Floyd. Maybe f*ck the A-side. Maybe I’ll just fight Pacquiao instead. Why not do that? Why not fight Manny and f*ck Floyd?
This could all be McGregor posturing trying to get Floyd fired up. More talk as they continue their long dance before an actual fight. Either way, Arum believes if McGregor steps into the ring with Pac it’ll be over real quick. Arum says McGregor is the best at what he does but boxing is a whole different animal.
No matter, if the money is right, Arum will give Pac carte blanche to set up a boxing match with McGregor if the Irishman wants it.
