Josh Norman got the money, but what’s the use of being the highest paid cornerback in the game, if you’re MIA come playoff time.
The Redskins held their playoff destiny in their hands on Sunday afternoon when they hosted a Giants team that was locked into the fifth seed in the NFC playoffs, and had nothing to play for.
Even with Odell Beckham on the field and plenty of motivation, the Redskins came up disgustingly short.
“Pssh, that’s the question I’ve been asking myself over there,” Norman told reporters after the game. “I don’t know. We’ve got to bounce back and see tomorrow, sit down with the coaches and evaluate ourselves. Because we had opportunities to be special, damn it, man.”
Norman continued: “That right there was disgusting. It was despicable. … We’ve got to be better. We’ve got to give (fans) something to cheer for. That right there was not football.”
For Norman’s part — the grass isn’t always greener — as he’s sitting on a (8-7-1) Redskins team that controlled their future for weeks.
Add in a Pro-Bowl snub and Odell Beckham possibly playing in a Super Bowl, and you see can just why Norman is disgusted!
