With Ronda Rousey’s future in limbo after a devastating loss at UFC 207, women’s MMA is primed for another mainstream star. Will it happen overnight? No. Will the next be as big as Rousey? Probably not.
But there are a few ladies that have the potential to take the sport and push it further into mainstream consciousness.
One of the ladies looking to grab the torch from Ronda is world jiu jitsu champion Mackenzie Dern.
MacKenzie is still young in her MMA career, 2-0, but has some of the best jits skills ever seen, regardless of gender. Those skills coupled with her looks and modeling savy make her the total package. Rousey set a blueprint toward mainstream success and Dern has the ability to follow the bread crumbs.
