Phylicia Rashad Joins Already Star-Studded Cast of “Black Panther” Movie

Actor Sterling K. Brown accidentally let the cat out of the bag when he gushed to “The Undefeated” about joining the star-studded cast of Marvel’s “Black Panther” movie.

I just worked with Chad [Boseman] on a film called Marshall, about Thurgood Marshall. He’s such a talented human being and a deep soul. He’s the perfect personality to fully inhabit T’Challa. So, to rejoin him, and to work with Academy Award winners … to be with Michael B. Jordan after the incredible work he’s done in Creed. Danai Gurira, Phylicia Rashad, Forest Whitaker — like, it’s embarrassing. I’m good at what I do — I don’t try to do any sort of false modesty — but, ‘Wow! I get to be with all of you people!?!’

Rashad’s name was deleted from the quote when the interview was posted online but it was too little, too late. We are all most familiar with Rashad as Claire Huxtable from “The Cosby Show” and she became the first black actress to win a Tony back in 2004 for her performance in “A Raisin in the Sun”.

Rashad and Ryan Coogler, the film’s director, previously worked together on the film, “Creed”.
