Sheriff in Trouble For Making Money Off Inmates, Domestic Violence & Intimidating Witnesses

Screen Shot 2017-01-17 at 1.56.43 PMThere are good cops and then there are bad cops and then there’s ex-Sheriff Robert Arnold of Rutherford County in Kentucky.

Daily News Journal has reported that Arnold along with his uncle, John Vanderveer and Rutherford County Sheriff’s administration chief, Joe Russell have been facing with 14-count federal grand jury indictment since late May accusing them of illegally profiting from inmates at the Rutherford County Jail in Murfreesboro through the sale of electronic cigarettes from their JailCigs business.

After this happened, the state removed jail certification after inspections showed standards not being met for having enough observation from booking officers like preventing inmates from committing suicide in which the jail had two inmates commit suicide in early 2016.

That is the beginning of trouble for Mr. Arnold though. The court found probable cause he has committed domestic assault, witness tampering and intimidation of his wife during an altercation at their home when he was for a pretrial release.

It’s amazing how many cops can’t do their jobs and how many of them are criminals.
