As everyone and their great grandma knows by now, the New York Giants wide receivers were seen partying it up with R&B superstar Trey Songz on a yacht in Miami.
Now, there’s nothing wrong with having a little fun, but the timing of this couldn’t have come at a worse time. It was the week of their wildcard matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
During the game, the Giants receivers played poorly, most notably with Odell Beckham Jr. dropping three passes.
When asked about the situation recently, Cruz realizes it wasn’t the best idea.
“Looking back on it, it definitely wasn’t worth it,” Cruz said on SNY’s “TimeOut with Taylor Rooks” podcast. “At the end of the day, you want to put your mind in a place where you want to succeed at whatever your next task is, especially in a football setting and a football atmosphere.”
Moving forward, it’s safe to say the Giants will be much more mindful of what they do during the week of a game, especially a playoff game.
