In the aftermath of the Grammys, details are emerging that Adele’s tribute to George Michael was originally envisioned to be an all-star power trio with the 5-time winner, joined by Beyonce and Rihanna.
According to Vulture.com, show producer Ken Ehrlich wanted a medley of songs but ultimately the late singer’s family preferred the “Hello” singer to perform as a soloist.

That, and Adele says George Michael’s family disapproved of a tribute unless it was just her — the only believable explanation why Adele would ever nix a collaboration with the “artist of her life,” Beyoncé.
In the end, Adele had two goes at the tribute and the audience cheered her on.
