New damning evidence against Art Briles has surfaced in the Baylor football scandal. Briles’ text messages have been revealed in a lawsuit from former Baylor assistant AD Colin Shillinglaw, where he is now suing the school for basically trying to dump all the blame on him and defaming his name.
According to TMZ, he texts show that Briles was well aware of what was happening and opted to cover up as much as he possibly could going as far back as 2011. The culture and mindset of the Baylor football team, which include a lack of respect for women and the law, stems directly from from the former leader, Art Briles. Although Briles was relieved of his duties as head football coach, you have to wonder why a more severe punishment can’t be handed down. Even though it is obvious that Briles will never again coach anywhere, it still seems to fall short to punish the lack of concern for the students and staff on the Baylor campus.
