Bob Arum on If a Pacquiao-Khan Fight is in The Works; Why it Would Be Interesting Bout

Top Rank Chief Bob Arum is denouncing a recent story that states a bout between Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan has been finalized.

On Tuesday, London-based publication The Sun reported that a deal was in place that would pit the Filipino Senator against the former welterweight champion in either Manchester or Bolton England on May 20th. Learning of the report, Arum insists any such deal is false. In comments made reportedly to the Courier Mail, Arum calls the report “bullshit.”

“The Amir Khan story has come out of nowhere,” Arum added. “What’s happening is that Manny is talking to these people in Dubai who have offered him an insane amount of money,.

“Whether (the offer) is real or not real — he is determined to explore it to see if it has any validity. That’s all I can say.”

While Top Rank continues it’s talks with talks with Horn, Pacquiao initiated poll on twitter asking fans who would they like to see him fight next. Khan currently leads the pack with 48% of the vote followed by Kell Brook, Terence Crawford and Jeff Horn.

Should Pacquiao choose to face Khan instead of Horn, the result will be a fan friendly match-up of speed and high punch percentage. Pacquiao continues to mostly evade the effects of father time and King Khan will give it his all, even if it’s to his detriment.

Where is Khan while discussions are underway? Tweeting like normal. Expressing interest in a fight against Lamont Peterson or the winner of Danny Garcia vs Keith Thurman, he has yet to comment on a fight against Pacquiao.
