Today has been a fairly busy day in Los Angeles.
First off, the organization decided to relieve Jim Buss and Mitch Kupchak of their duties, while five-time NBA champion Magic Johnson was promoted to President of Basketball Operations.
With the trade deadline being less than 48 hours away, the Lakers are wasting no time in looking for a new general manager.
Lakers are finalizing a multi-year agreement with agent Rob Pelinka as general manager, league sources tell @TheVertical. He'll start soon.

Considering Pelinka has been Kobe’s agent throughout his career, this could potentially lure the Black Mamba in to be a part of the front office in some capacity.
Pelinka's been prominent agent for years, holds strong relationships w/ league execs, engineered deals, recruiting in deep '17 draft class.

The new Lakers are in full effect.
