Darrelle Revis had a pretty tough season with the Jets. The last thing he probably wants are legal issues now. Revis is being reportedly investigated after getting into a fight in Pittsburgh.
What may have been an innocent trip to visit family and friends has turned into a terrible mess for the Jets cornerback. The firm that represents Revis has released a statement in regards to the fight.
Blaine Jones Law, the firm that represents Revis, had the following to say:
“Mr. Revis came home to Pittsburgh this past weekend to visit family and friends,” Blaine Jones Law, the firm representing Revis, said in a statement. “During that time Mr. Revis went by a location in the Southside that he is in the process of developing. Mr. Revis was physically assaulted while at that location by a group of at least five people. Mr. Revis feared for his safety and retreated from the aggressors. Mr. Revis was not arrested after this incident. Mr. Revis sought medical attention as a result of the aforementioned attack.
But as we all know, there are three sides to a story-your side, their side, and the truth. In a separate report, they’re looking to file charges against Revis.
According to Pittsburgh’s WTAE, police are investigating Revis and are considering filing felony charges against him. Sources told WTAE that an officer who drove by the corner of South 23rd and East Carson streets around 2:30 a.m. Monday saw Revis speaking to two men, but when the cop returned the pair was knocked out and Revis was nowhere to be found.
The report states that the two people approached Revis, complimented him on his outfit and began following him and recording video of him. Revis told the men to leave him alone and a shoving match ensued. One of the men says Revis took the phone from his hands in an attempt to delete the video and threw the device onto the street before a friend of Revis allegedly punched the pair. The men were reportedly taken to the hospital, with one suffering broken bones around his eye, according to the report.
There is supposedly video of the fight that has been released to the police. The Jets are aware of the fight and like many of us, they’re probably wondering what exactly happened.
