If you go by his or his brothers twitter acccount, then you’ll know that Martellus Bennett was probably unlikely to be attending any post-super bowl festivities at a Trump White House.
After the Patriots’ 34-28 victory over the Atlanta Falcons, Bennett made it clear — his plans to skip the customary trip to the White House because of his opposition to Donald Trump per USA Today.
“I’m not worried about it at all,” said Bennett, who just completed his eighth year in the NFL. “It’s still like my beliefs, I think they (the Patriots) believe whatever I want to do the believe in that.”
“We all have our beliefs,” he said. “The thing is, we accept people for who they are. And that’s the biggest thing about what this country is really about. I don’t really care what you believe. It’s not going to separate me from accepting you for who you are.”
Bennett also made it known that said he’s not concerned about upsetting Patriots owner Bob Kraft, head coach Bill Belichick or quarterback Tom Brady, who are all known friends of Trump.
