Rashard Lewis and Jason “White Chocolate” Williams will be two members of one of the teams in Ice Cube’s new basketball league. The former Orlando Magic teammates will play on the 3 Headed Monsters. Lewis will be the Player-Captain and Williams the Player-Co Captain.
The two men will be responsible for filling out the rest of the roster. The BIG3 is a player centric league, no outside individuals determine personnel and team operations. It will be interesting to see who they decide to try and add to their roster. A secondary ball handler is key, as well as a semi big who can rebound, pass, and post. Tim Duncan is retired, he would be an interesting fit.
This league will go a long way in making high level basketball available for consumption all year. As previously written, the BIG3 isn’t here to compete with the NBA, but rather allow basketball fans the opportunity to continue to see their favorite players compete in high level games post retirement.
