According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter Alabama offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian will be named the Atlanta Falcons new OC, replacing Kyle Shanahan. Talk about a stroke of luck. Sark was only ‘Bama’s OC for one game and now he’s moved up to the NFL. Sark served as head coach at USC and the University of Washington. He is known to be something of an “offensive guy.”
Can’t say this is a great hire for the Falcons. What has Sark proved he can do with an offense? He was great calling plays in the USC heyday of Reggie Bush and all those stars, but hasn’t done much since. Plus, Sark has been dealing with some personal issues and the pressures of an NFL coordinator job may not be the best move. Time will tell if the Falcons made a good decision.
