Adrian Peterson is a running back over the age of 30, has documented knee issues and is coming off his worst year as a pro (aside from his year suspended).
So why is he one of the hottest free agent names?
Because he’s Adrian Peterson.
It comes as no surprise that reports of the Dallas Cowboys, Peterson’s home town team, are interested in acquiring AP’s services. Honestly, it’s the best landing spot for Peterson at this point of his career.
Ezekiel Elliott is the work horse in Dallas but Adrian can be used as a great situational player, which keeps him healthier and fresh for an assumed playoff run. It’d be remised to not mention playing behind the Cowboys’ offensive line. As a pure run blocking unit the Cowboys line stacks up as the best this century and Peterson wouldn’t have to work nearly as hard as he did in Minnesota to find open lanes.

But there is a belief in league circles that the Dallas Cowboys could also be in play for the potential free agent, according to league sources.
Schefter’s also reported that Peterson has a few other teams on his wishlist if/when he is released by the Vikings.
