Raw was in LA this past Monday and all the former WWE superstars were there. Rock and Austin were backstage but never actually appeared on the live show.
Austin was most likely there just to hang out but The Rock was there for a different reason. In case you haven’t heard, his production company and WWE Studios have teamed up to make a movie based on WWE Superstar Paige and her family of wrestlers.
Before and after the live show, The Rock filmed parts of the movie. It was what happened after Raw went off air that made the noise.
If you don’t remember, Paige’s debut on Raw came the night after WrestleMania 30 where she beat AJ Lee for the Divas Championship.
So, they remained historically accurate and recreated this. Paige won’t actually be in this but Florence Pugh is playing her and former TNA Knockout Thea Trinidad is AJ Lee.
As you can imagine, seeing AJ Lee triggered those CM Punk chants and The Rock actually called CM Punk.
WWE may have been a little upset at this considering their relationship with Punk but The Rock addressed why he did.
