Donald Trump held a press briefing at the White House on Thursday. Among the many interesting moments, was an exchange with a black reporter about the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC).
In the video it is clear Trump is unaware of the acronym CBC and what it stands for. Something any politician regardless of their political leanings would know. Trump then goes on to ask the black reporter if the CBC are friends of hers, and if she would like to set up a meeting.
There are several things to criticize Trump for here, but let’s focus on decorum and the presidency itself. This is the highest office in the land, leader of the free world. The person who occupies said office has a responsibility to conduct himself or herself with a certain level of dignity and professionalism. Even in the face of a difficult line of questioning (which this most certainly wasn’t). Regardless of what side of the aisle you are on, you should have that level of expectation of the individual residing in the White House.
