Internet joksters rejoice! It’s that time of the year, the release of the new Steph Curry sneaker. Under Armour will release the Curry 3s on February 17th, in time for all star weekend, in four new colorways.
Uproxx has learned that the colorways all represent something different. The “Brass Band” mids pay homage to New Orleans, the host of all star weekend.
The “122” lows are a reference to Curry’s time at Davidson when he set a then NCAA record for made threes his freshman year.
The “Dark Horse” lows pay tribute to the hoop on the back of his grandparents home where his dad Dell used to wear him out in games of H-O-R-S-E.
Finally, we have the “Full Circle” lows. These represent how Steph’s all-star game has come full circle. He was the leading vote getter in 2014 when the game was also held in New Orleans.
These colorways are not bad. The “122” lows are the least appealing in my opinion. The “Full Circle” lows and “Brass Band” mids are ok. No matter, the internet is about to tee off on these in 3, 2, 1…
