The WWE continues to bring talent into their women’s division through the Performance Center.
The latest class features veteran names such as Kimber Lee and Heidi Lovelace, but it’s often the ones with very little wrestling experience that break out. That’s why Isabel Lahela is a name to look out for within the next few years.
Lahela was an Olympic weightlifter and model before turning her focus to pro wrestling.
Squared Circle Sirens has details on the signing.
We can confirm that WWE has signed Canadian olympic weightlifter Isabel Lahela to a developmental contract with the company.
Isabel, 22, is a Toronto, Canada native and an Olympic Weightlifter who won the 48kg weightlifting Junior Ontario Championship in 2014.
Along with being a weightlifter she is also a professional model, personal trainer, and was a professionally trained dancer for fifteen years growing up in Canada.
She has been training at Superkick’d Wrestling in Toronto, Canada since August under the guidance of professional wrestlers Ashley Sixx and Kris Chambers.
The WWE may have just found another superstar.
