On Wednesday, the 76ers announced that center Joel Embiid will miss the rest of his rookie season due to a meniscus tear. This season was Embiid’s first after battling back from a foot injury that kept him sidelined his first two years in the NBA. Having played just 31 games with a restriction of 28 minutes per game, Embiid managed to average 20.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, and 2.1 assists per game.
With Embiid’s abbreviated season, the Rookie of the Year Award is up for grabs….or is it? Flip the pages to take a look at some of Embiid’s highlights this season.
