While most of Hip-Hop is immersed in the Remy Ma/ Nicki Minaj beef that isn’t a beef, Jay Z & his Roc Nation colleagues are making some serious moves in the dark.
Roc Nation has released an official statement announcing their partnership with a new launching platform, ARRIVE, that will help start up companies in their early stages of branding and business development:
“ARRIVE was created to leverage our experience and resources in building brands, developing consumer facing businesses, managing artists and representing athletes. We’ve opened that diversified, global range of expertise to a new vertical: entrepreneurs and their early stage businesses” said Neil Sirni, Head of New Ventures at Roc Nation.
Already a huge company in terms of sports & entertainment, boasting artists & athletes like Rihanna, Shakira, J. Cole, and Big Sean, Yoenis Cespedes, Kevin Durant, Dez Bryant, and Robinson Cano; Roc Nation is looking to expand it’s reach into helping select young businesses grow from the ground up.
Here’s a little more info on ARRIVE, via Yahoo Finance:
ARRIVE was formed through a collaboration with Primary Venture Partners (“Primary”) and GlassBridge Asset Management (“GlassBridge”). Primary will serve as a venture advisor and GlassBridge, a subsidiary of GlassBridge Enterprises Corp. (GLA), will provide institutional and operational support.
Ben Sun–Primary Venture Partners co-founder and General Partner, was very complementary of Jay Z’s company, and sounds excited to get the ball rolling:
“What Roc Nation has built so far is a true testament to their vision, capabilities and willingness to dig in and take their companies to the next level. We are thrilled to partner with the amazing team at ARRIVE and to leverage these unique resources to build the next generation of powerful brands.”
From taking meetings with the President of the United States, to producing films highlighting social injustices within the justice system, Jay Z is making tangible, STONG differences using the platform rap gave him.
Ya gotta love it.
