Bucs backup QB Mike Glennon has only thrown 11 passes in the last two years according to ProFootball Talk, but that hasn’t diminished his value for NFL free agency at all. In fact, several teams have spoken up and said that there’s a possibility of him finding a home with their organization.
It’s notable that quarterbacks are hard to find, and maybe it’s Mike Glennon’s years of pine riding that’s giving him some NFL credibility, but here are the hard facts. Glennon has been sitting behind Jameis Winston. While Winston has put up great numbers for the Bucs, it’s not like Glennon has been learning from a master sensai QB like Tom Brady or Peyton Manning.
The other notable factor is that Glennon has made a total of 11 starts since his rookie year in 2013, which correlates to exactly 0 in 2016 with a healthy Winston at the helm. We all love to see guys prosper, but $15 million is more like over-flourishing.
