Tonight’s fight was quite the spectacle. The very first round was full of power and fire. But there is a clear winner and his name is Keith Thurman.
This was a fight that both boxers really wanted and it finally happened. All 12 rounds were full of fire and neither boxer was backing down. The Barclays Center also set a new record for attendance and after a split decision, Keith Thurman is new unified Welterweight champion. Once the decision was announced, Danny Garcia couldn’t believe it and neither could the fans.
The fight itself had everything that was promised to the spectators. From the very beginning, both fighters were eager to get out of their corners and lay down some shots. Towards the very end, you can tell that Thurman, in a sense, was slowing down. Garcia even walked to the wrong corner. They both settled down around the 4th-5th round but they figured each other out.
Will there be a rematch? Let’s see if the promoters are going to get to work on that.
