HBCUs have long fought for respect in every avenue. Saturday evening was no different as NCCU earned the program’s second ever bid to the NCAA tournament and was referred to as “Durham’s other college basketball team”.
The NCCU Eagles defeated Norfolk State in Saturday’s MEAC title game to earn the trip to the Big Dance and the Washington Post newspaper tweeted the following:
