Things get real for one Macy’s shopper.
A New York man attempted to steal several Michael Kors bags from Macy’s on Thursday and gets caught.
Robert Percodani, 25, stabbed three security guards with a hypodermic needle, claiming he had both HIV and Hepatitis C. Police state that Robert was out on parole at the time of the incident. Reports also indicate the shoplifter is a heroin user and has been arrested multiple other times in the past.
Currently out on parole for his 2015 conviction of criminal possession of stolen property. Percodani now faces charges of robbery, assault, among other charges and remains held on an out-of-state arrest warrant, officials said.
Security guards arrived at the scene in efforts to apprehend the shoplifter. Robert managed to puncture three with the needle and biting another in the leg.
According to a criminal complaint the shoplifter yelled, “I’m going to stab you! I have HIV!” during the tussle.
Immediately after begin arrested, Police sent Percodani to Bellevue Hospital for treatment as an emotionally disturbed person. There is no word yet on whether or not Percodani has HIV or Hepatitis C.
Let’s just hope both test come back as negative.
