Former welterweight champion Ricky Hatton is safe after shooters fired into a venue where he was attending an event.
Mirror UK is reporting that Hatton was at the Living Room in Manchester to donate a signed pair of gloves to a charity fundraiser to benefit the recently fire destroyed Christie hospital. According to his agent, Hatton was upstairs in the venue when the drive-by occurred.
“Ricky was upstairs in the venue and was presenting a pair of signed boxing gloves that he had donated as part of the event.
“He was alerted to the fact that something had happened downstairs but he was not involved in in the incident in any way. He was not injured during the incident.
“It was just a case of him being in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
Attendees escaped injuries with the exception of one attendee who dove for cover when the shots rang out.
