Could there be unhappiness brewing in Oakland? Not the team that just got Beast Mode out of retirement?! Not the team moving to Vegas?! Not the team that’s one of the biggest threats in the NFL?! Yup, that team.
According to NFL.com, Raiders QB, Derek Carr, isn’t too happy with management and their lack of urgency on creating a long-term deal. Carr will be finishing his rookie contract this season, and was hoping to possibly enter a new deal before the start of training camp. Sources say Carr is looking to be a Raider for life and wants to know what’s the hesitation to get a deal done.
The Raiders have built a team that the league should be scared of this season, Beast Mode is back, Carr is healthy, and a dangerous offense, the Raiders are contenders for the playoff season, IF, they all can remain healthy. One has to wonder, why they aren’t quick to lock up Carr. Carr finished the season with 3,937 yds, 28 touchdowns and 6 INTS, before his season ending injury. Who knows how far they would’ve gotten with a healthy Carr in the playoffs… Super Bowl, anyone?
Hopefully the Raiders come to their senses soon and create an ideal situation with Carr because if not, he’s auditioning for another team this upcoming season.
