Elijah Holyfield, son of boxing legend Evander Holyfield and a running back at the University of Georgia, was arrested Monday morning on drug charges.
According to TMZ officers responded to Holyfield’s dorm after receiving reports of weed smells coming from his room. Upon opening the door for officers he denied smoking weed despite having red eyes and the strong odor of marijuana coming from his room.
The report goes on to say a search of the room turned up a glass pipe inside an iPhone case covered in marijuana residue and “seven buds of suspected unburned marijuana” outside the window.
Officers arrested and charged Holyfield with two misdemeanor charges for possession of marijuana and possession of drug-related objects.
He was later released on bail.
