It’s an actual fact, but Bradley Beal shouldn’t be the one delivering the message.
NBA logic suggest that the Washington Wizards would have matched up better with the Cleveland Cavaliers, on the strength of their dynamic backcourt, and Beal harped on that point when making these comments.
“Cleveland didn’t want to see us. I always said that. I felt like that’s the reason they didn’t play us in the second round. They didn’t want to see us in the second round,” he said. “If they were going to go down, they were going to go down in the conference finals. They didn’t want to go down in the second round.”
Unfortunately, those two stars couldn’t close the deal, losing to the Celtics in game 7, and so we’re being treated to an epic beatdown, as the Cavs steamroll towards the NBA Finals.
The Cavs Richard Jefferson and JR Smith heard about Beal’s remarks, and called him out Friday.
“It seems like the teams that are at home now want to start talking,” Jefferson said after Cleveland’s 44-point demolition of Boston in Game 3 on Friday, according to CBS Sports’ James Herbert.
“Dion Waiters was saying that nobody wanted to see the Miami Heat … then Bradley Beal says nobody wants to (play the Wizards). Well, if no one does, then show up. If you get there, then prove it.”

Adding to the awkwardness of Beal’s comments — the Wizards went 1-2 this season against Cleveland.
