Who knew that NBA history could help mend the biggest beef of the 2016-17 NBA season.
Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant have been feuding since last summer, but according to Kendrick Perkins, the triple double record may have healed all wounds.
While a guest on Kevin Garnett’s Area 21 — Kendrick Perkins revealed the reconciliation between his former Thunder teammates — stating that they talked last month when Westbrook notched his 42nd triple-double of the season to break Oscar Robertson’s record.
“The night that Russ actually broke the record, I had text KD the next day … he sent me a text and was like, ‘Hey man, me and Russ had a nice conversation the other day.’ … They’re back on talking terms,” Perkins said Monday night on TNT’s “Area 21.”
Perkins also believes the two could reconnect as teammates sooner than later.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if (Durant went) back to Oklahoma cause, in my opinion, I don’t think Russ is going nowhere,” he said.
