In the weekend presale debut of the Big Baller Brand Lonzo Ball ZO2 sneakers, LaVar and Lonzo Ball saw some success, even though the actual shoe won’t be available until November 2017. Although LaVar was mum on The Undisputed about how many pairs the brand actually moved in the first weekend, he gave an explanation as to why his son’s shoes were priced at $495 for a pair.

If you notice, LaVar says that his son has sold out games at UCLA’s basketball arena and that means something. He said Michael Jordan can’t compare with his son because MJ didn’t have his own brand coming into the NBA.
LaVar is vert vocal on his son’s basketball prowess on the court, yet Lonzo was completely exposed in the NCAA Tournament by Kentucky’s De’Aaron Fox. While Lonzo could only muster up 10 points in the UCLA loss, Fox scored 39 points the Lonzo, and MJ left UNC having won a national championship.
I’m still not seeing the justification for the $495 price point, but Shannon Sharpe makes a very good point by saying that no one would be talking about the ZO2 sneakers if LaVar had priced them at $100. Sharpe goes on the explain that no one is talking about the actual shoe but rather just how expensive they are.
