I’m pretty sure a “coke float” isn’t on the menu.
Off-duty officer Ricky Wolfe walked into the local Steak ‘n Shake restaurant last Thursday around 11 pm. and ordered a drink and got quite the surprise. When his water arrived, Wolfe found a small baggie of cocaine in his beverage.
Jekievea Monchell Yearby, an employee at the restaurant located on Hixson Pike, in Chattanooga, Tennessee admits to police that the cocaine was hers. Yearby explained to police that cocaine had to have fallen into the drink, from her person while she was taking the officer’s order.
Chattanooga Police reviewed security video provided by the restaurant and discovered the bag of cocaine was put indeed put in the drink by Jekievea. Which is what prompted authorities to make the arrest according to an police report.
During the arrest Jekievea told arresting officers that she had another small bag of cocaine tucked in her bra. Police found a total of 0.7 grams of cocaine, and a straw covered with cocaine residue. Yearby is charge with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of controlled substance and assault.
In a phone interview with a local news outlet, Yearby states she is no longer employed at the restaurant and says she doesn’t have a drug problem nor does she use drugs.
So wait, who’s magic dust was she holding? Yearby is set to appear in court next month on June 15th.
