Iguodala on The Possibility of The Warriors Re-signing All Free Agents

The Warriors are on the cusp of their second NBA championship in three years and the big question is how long can they keep this run going? Well, if Andre Iguodala has his way, at least for a few years. Thursday was media day and Andre dropped a few hints about the future of the Warriors. Courtesy of Bay Area News Group’s Marcus Thompson, Iguodala is confident the team will run it back with the main core in tact.

Nine of the Dubs players are eligible to walk in free agency (Iguodala, Curry, Durant, Ian Clark, Matt Barnes, Zaza Pachulia, JaVale McGee, Shaun Livingston, and David West), and James Michael McAdoo is a restricted free agent.

Curry and Durant are not going anywhere. The Dubs own Curry’s Bird rights so he will sign the max deal and stay. KD has already said he will take a little less than the max to allow the Warriors to re-sign Iguodala and Livingston. The question is on the remaining role players, there is no reason for any of them to leave with the exception of JaVale McGee who has shed the label of foolish and unintelligent basketball player this season.

McGee has played well in his limited minutes this season and could command a big deal from some other team. But, while he could earn more money, his value is probably highest on the Warriors. They can deploy him in the proper situations to maximize his skill set. Plus playing with all of these high basketball IQ guys has been good for him.
