The free agency frenzy is still in full swing. After earlier reports that the Spurs were signing Rudy Gay surfaced last week, it has finally come to fruition this week.
Free agent forward Rudy Gay has agreed to a two year deal with the Spurs, league sourcs tell ESPN.

According to WOJ, Gay wanted to be with a title contender, which before Kahwi Leonard got hurt in the playoffs seemed to be a possibility. Gay did after all turn down a $14 million payday next season to become a free agent. It’s clear what his intentions are.
All the risk is with the Spurs on this one, since Gay is coming off a serious Achilles injury. Gay is also 31, so time isn’t on his side. If the rehab is going well, then the Spurs made out with a gem at his position. However, Achilles rehab didn’t work well for Kobe, the ultimate warrior in work ethic. Why would it fair any better for Gay?
