Sixers young big man Joel Embiid has had it with LaVar Ball’s mouth and responded via IG saying, “Fuck LaVar Ball!” This retort by Embiid was prompted by Ball’s comments that Embiid spends too much time on Twitter and not enough time on his game. NBA drama is awesome and we are here for it. Ball isn’t wrong here, and Embiid started this back and forth. See the video courtesy of Bleacher Report:

If you remember, on NBA Draft night last month, Embiid tweeted the following:
Please dunk on him so hard that his daddy runs on the court to save him.. https://t.co/cMvt5RYiSQ

This was in response to his teammate Ben Simmons who tweeted “crazy pills” in regards to LaVar and his outspoken nature when Lonzo was drafted. By the way Ben Simmons was drafted in 2016 and hasn’t played an NBA game yet.
LaVar was asked about the tweets from Embiid and Simmons, and said the following:
When you don’t win, and don’t even make the playoffs, and don’t even stay on the court long enough, that’s the best thing you can do—is tweet and make some stuff. Ain’t nobody else doing that, because they’re working on their games in the gym. These guys ain’t played a game, [are] always hurt, and [are] at the bottom of the totem pole. So guess what? Get your [rear ends] off the goddamn Tweeter and get in the gym.
LaVar is not wrong in anything he’s saying. Embiid showed flashes this season but has played in only 31 games in his first three seasons. Ben Simmons has yet to play. It’s the summertime where NBA players work on their games. Is LaVar loud, brash, and outspoken? Sure. But why does that matter? He isn’t playing any NBA games. Why worry yourself with another player’s dad?
Now, LaVar’s nature will cause NBA players to come hard at son Lonzo. But this is actually a good thing for Lonzo. If he gets everyone’s best shot early and holds his own, he will be well equipped to handle the stresses and pressure that comes with being a franchise player. If he shrivels under the pressure, there will be an army of people ready to let LaVar know it.
