Lavar Ball has been known for his outlandish takes but he discusses the genius behind the madness as he speaks on owning your own brand and sneakers and reasoning behind the ZO2s and their expensive price of $495.
“When I said, “You’re not a big baller if you don’t buy these shoes,” it was about dedication, discipline and following your goals to earn enough to purchase something you want to own” as Lavar said via SLAM. “Ten years from now, people will look back and understand what I was saying. He goes on to state “Our family has put a lot of work into this movement. We’re happy with the quality of ZO2s.I would never put my own son in a shoe that’s going to put him at risk of getting hurt.”
Big Baller's loose! If you can't afford the ZO2'S, you're NOT a BIG BALLER! 💰

People have criticized LaVar and his antics but the risks to be an entrepreneur and giving his sons Lonzo, LiMelo & LiAngelo their own brand have been undeniable. Whether you think he is doing it right or doing it wrong with the sport takes and the $495 shoes, we must admit that he has the guts & is doing it. To be a father who goes out of his way to teach his kids ownership and not let the big companies own them, he should be applauded for that alone. Everyone says that the target has been put on his son’s backs, but they always seem to leave out the ownership that is being put in their hands, starting with the Z02s. The future is to be determined but if LaVar’s mission is accomplished but if he is right, that changes the landscape of future players entering the draft when it comes to brands. Players will come in looking to own their own shoes, they may or may not have the same price, but someone had to go this route first and that is the Ball Family with the ZO2s.
