Seems as though Dwyane Wade is not long for his hometown Chicago Bulls. Who can blame him? The team traded Jimmy Butler and let Rajon Rondo walk. They are clearly in rebuild mode and the 35 year old didn’t sign up for that. He has one year and $23.8M remaining on the his deal. But according to ESPN’s Nick Friedell, a buyout is expected to be agreed upon by both sides in the coming months. Where could the veteran guard wind up?
A buyout makes sense for both sides. Head coach Fred Hoiberg could have a locker room free of high priced veterans, so his voice is heard more prominently. Though I’m not sure that will help much. Plus Wade would definitely prefer to play for a contender or a young team with talent and a clear direction.
The Miami Heat are a possibility. Time heals all wounds and maybe Wade and Riley are ready to bury the hatchet. The Heat are not quite contenders but did finish with a tremendous post all star record.
He could go to Los Angeles. Team up with Blake and the Clippers or wait for LeBron to get to town next year and join the Lakers. This is all conjecture and this point. Buyout terms need to be reached first, but Wade back with the Heat or in the Western Conference could be fun.
