After numerous Cleveland Browns players kneeled during the national anthem a couple of weeks ago, local law enforcement decided to protest as well.
In response to players kneeling in prayer during the anthem before their preseason game, Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association President Steve Loomis told cleveland.com that the Cleveland police would not hold the flag for pregame ceremony at today’s season opener.
This led to players reaching out to the police in efforts of achieving solidarity. After talks, the players were joined by cops and first responders during the playing of the National Anthem.
Prior to the anthem, a special PSA condemning hate and urging solidarity and equality was played in the stadium per Daryl Ruiter. Flip the page to take a look.
