Details on How a Mailed Greeting Card Landed a TX Couple in Jail

A Texas couple, one in jail and one out, will both be serving time after prison officials foiled their plan to exchange a greeting card soaked with methamphetamine.

According to the Dallas Observer Amanda Mollison sent the drug saturated greeting card to her boyfriend Justin Brown, an inmate at the Collin County Detention Center. Upon delivery, sheriff employees detected meth on both the envelope and card.

Probing further into their interactions, employees discovered phone conversations where Brown instructed Mollison to “work on his card tonight” because he “wants to get high.”

Each will serve 51 months in prison, Mollison for providing contraband to an inmate, Brown for possession of contraband while in jail.
