Jesse Jackson might not be right on everything he says, but when it comes to the NFL anthem protests, he knocks it right out of the park.
Rev. Jackson appeared on Wednesday’s episode of Undisputed, with Skip Bayless & Shannon Sharpe to discuss the social impact the protests are having, as well as why they’re so necessary.
Simple-minded people, looking to find any reason to distract from the issue at hand (PLAYERS KNEELING FOR POLICE BRUTALITY & RACIAL INJUSTICE) will point to the fact that Jackson likened cotton fields to the football field; however, the intelligent know this specific message was not meant to be taken literal. We know NFL players live better than slaves…DUH.
The entire point of players sitting/kneeling/raising a fist for during the anthem is laid out perfectly by Rev. Jackson, and if you choose to take in the substance of what he says, instead of live on the dramatic comparison he makes for effect, you’ll be enlightened if you’re still wondering why any of this is a thing.
