NFLPA & NFL Fighting Over Ezekiel Elliott; Latest Includes a Restraining Order

The battle between the NFL and the NFLPA over Ezekiel Elliott and his looming potential six-game suspension rages on.

A source tells ESPN’s Josina Anderson that the NFLPA has filed for a temporary restraining order that would put Elliott’s six-game suspension on hold once again. The motion comes in response to last Thursday’s ruling by the 5th U.S. Court of Appeals in New Orleans.

The appeals court granted the NFL’s emergency motion to set aside a Texas judge’s injunction that postponed Elliott’s suspension. A federal judge in Texas had previously ordered the injunction after the NFLPA argued that the proceedings in Elliott’s domestic violence investigation were unfair.

The NFLPA’s TRO request is expected to be heard on Tuesday in the US District Court, Southern District of New York. The NFLPA will request a hearing of the full panel of judges with the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel in New Orleans.
