The Cincinnati Bengals & Cleveland Browns almost carried out a trade for Bengals’ backup QB AJ McCarron before the trade deadline yesterday. Cincinnati was ready to go five minutes before the trade deadline but in the most Browns-type of way, Cleveland sent the trade in five minutes after the 4 P.M. deadline.
Fox Sports Ohio commentator Bruce Drennan learned about the trade live on the air and reported the surprising details. Adam Shefter of ESPN first broke the story. Cincinnati would have received Cleveland’s second and third round draft picks in 2018.
