Ahead of today’s Cavs-Knicks matchup in New York, LeBron James made some comments over the weekend that hasn’t made the Knicks happy. James said that the team made a mistake not drafting Dennis Smith Jr, who went to Dallas. New York drafted Frank Nitilikina.
Newly acquired Knick Enes Kanter took James’ comments personally and quickly came to the defense of Ntilikina. He went on to say that his teammates are family to him and that no matter who it is, he will step up to them in defense, even if it’s LeBron.
James quickly fired back in response to Kanter, per ESPN’s Rachel Nicols.
LeBron confirms of course he was taking a shot at Phil Jackson when he said the Knicks missed by not drafting Dennis Smith:
“For clarification of people who just live in a box & for Enes Kanter, who always’s got something to say. [shakes head] I don’t know what’s wrong with him.”— Rachel Nichols (@Rachel__Nichols) November 13, 2017
