It’s no secret that the Cavs have gotten off to a less than stellar start while Kyrie Irving has been balling out in Boston with his new team. Following the Celtics win over the Hawks on Monday, LeBron James took to Instagram with an Arthur fist meme to express his frustration.
James was not in practice on Tuesday and the media took the opportunity to ask his teammates about the meme in his absence. One of the first in line for questioning was JR Smith who claimed to have no idea what they were talking about.
“Honestly, this is the first time I can honestly say I didn’t see it,” Smith said. “I didn’t see his social media. What happened?”
What happened next was hilarious as reporters struggled to explain the viral internet meme from a 1999 episode of children’s cartoon, “Arthur”. In the episode, Arthur gets angry with his sister and hits her.
More than likely, Smith was just trolling the media as he actually “liked” the post.
