Loudoun County Sheriff officials are responding to Redskins Safety Su’a Cravens’ claims that he was racially profiled and roughed up last month during a traffic stop.
TMZ reports that officials are calling the incident a crack down on people speeding in the area.
“A deputy’s LIDAR received a reading on a vehicle that was traveling over the posted speed limit of 25 mph in a school zone. The deputy initiated a traffic stop and the driver pulled over into a shopping center.”
Cravens recorded a video from the scene on Nov. 29 when the incident occurred and shared it on social media. By his account he was pulled from his car, roughed up, and told he and a male companion traveling in the car “smelled like weed.” Cravens goes on to say sheriffs searched his car but found nothing.
He was ultimately cited for speeding and illegal tent.
