There was a time when critics didn’t think that LeBron James could come through for his team in big moments but 15 years into his hall of fame career, he continues to prove everyone wrong. In the Cavs 101-95 win, James dominated with 32 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists. This also included a three-point dagger to put Cleveland up by five points with 15 seconds left.
Prior to that play, James demanded to Head Coach Tyronn Lue that he wanted the ball and that they would win the game. Lue said that a play was drawn up but then James mentioned a favorite play of his own that he said was sure to get Cleveland the win.
“Was going to run a different play and then Bron said, ‘I want Chicago.’ So I said, ‘OK,’” said Lue. “We got it to him and he made a big shot. That was a huge play for us to put us up five.” (Per Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com)
James takes heat a lot of times for acting like the head coach during games but if he is able to execute and get the Cavs wins, then his teammates along with Lue won’t mind at all.
