After an extended absence from the ring, former champion Amir Khan announced in January a return to the ring with his new promoter, Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing, and a fight against Phil Lo Greco scheduled to take place on April 21 in England.
During Tuesday’s press conference to formally announce the bout, Team Lo Greco poked personal jabs at Khan over his online meltdown on Twitter where he accused his wife Faryal Makhdoom of having an affair with heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua and his devastating knockout loss to middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez.
Since the normally reserved Khan had time, he reacted fairly ferociously to the taunting.
